DB9 Volante engine noise

As I am new to this I wonder if you can advise me re: engine noise.

When giving it some beans or decent acceleration, with the roof down I hear not only the engine note/noise ( oh !! ) but what sounds like a whistling/whoosing noise. In some ways it reminds me of an air intake off a turbo car (but without all the 'whoomf' noise that comes after).

Can anyone advise if this is a normal sound?

Apologies that this is a little vague but as it is new to me I dont have a point of reference

the transmission whine? If so, it's normal.

I had this on my 06 DB9 Volante, I took it to HWM and was told they all do it, I told them it didnt do it when I got it, but they were adamant it wasnt a fault. It didnt get any worse over about 2000 miles and then I sold it.
