I'm looking to buy some aliminum plate from a local dealer, can anyone tell me which is most suitable for a 7 style car - floor and sides, should I go thicker for the floor ? I also need a dash / gearbox tunnel etc ... then for shaping is there one that sticks out from the others.

Euro spec’s would also be handy .. as I don’t have a conversion chart and don’t yet fully understand the alloy grading system.

(Should also mention they are not too interested in my project so not forth coming with help...)

Kind regards
Matthew

The vast majority of mine is 1.2mm bog standard sheet, including the floor (although the seat sits on steel). Just make sure it's bendable and, if it matters to you, weldable.

The spec we used to use a lot is L72 which is an aircraft grade, the commercial spec is NS4
A quick google gives a spec sheet here;- http://www.smithmetal.com/downloads/5251.pdf
This is quite a strong ali & you can probably run a size thinner in this. e.g. 1.2mm rather than 1.5 etc.
