Hi
After a roof mounted bike rack to fit an Audi RS6/A6 Avant (C5 chassis)?!.. Anyone recommend anything?.. ta
There are only 2 manufacturers that I would consider. Audi and Thule and I usually get Thule, they're very well made and hold the bike securely. There not cheap, but they are well worth the money when compared to everything else available. I know that some of the VW/Audi kit from a few years ago was just rebadged Thule, which is why I'd have a look at both. After a roof mounted bike rack to fit an Audi RS6/A6 Avant (C5 chassis)?!.. The one I'd go for:

I have had a Thule freeride rack on my A6. The C5 A6 i just shoved the bike in the back, was big enough for that. Both riding collegues have/had RS4/6's have used Thule bars and racks. Personally I prefer the aero bars for A looks and B a bit less noise. I sold my aero bars and bought a new set for the E61.
not sure if its a consideration but a towbar rack might be a worthy alternative. The Pendle type racks are great. But here is a whole other debate on RS6's with towbars!

I can recommend mont blanc aero bars with mont blanc scott bike carriers. They are very reasonably priced and the wind noise it not to bad considering. If you shop about you should be able to pick up the roof bars for around £90 with looking feet 2 bike carriers for around £60. I run them on my passat b6 estate. They are universal too so you can switch them from car to car.
