If you could travel back in time and witness any event in history, what would it be?

I'm trying to think what mine would be, which is why I'm interested in what other people would pick. smile

There was this time, about six months ago when I hit a patch of diesel coming round a roundabout.
I had the car on it's lock stops completely sideways, avoided everything, wound off the lock and went about my day. I bet it looked fking awesome.

I'd go back and watch that.

Easy.

JFK Assassination. Knowing what I know now I'd like to de bunk most of the conspiracy theories and just see what actually happened.

On a lighter note I'd like to see the discovery of electricity and maybe hang out with Edison and Franklin.

Hmm, there is so many, the birth of the sun, the birth of the earth. Maybe the start of life on the planet or the moment the dinosaurs were wiped out.

Then again witnessing the birth of jesus to see if he was real would be good as would seeing the fall of rome or the construction of the pyramids.

It's a really hard one but I think I'd like to go back and be one of the 15 that stuffed that PHers wife.

Which part of WWII? smile Would it be the signing of the treaty at the end, or perhaps one of the major battles, D-Day?

I know its only pretend, but where do you intend watching this from? Also, it's going to be dark so you might be facing the wrong way and miss it. Imagine how annoying that would be mad

Hmmmm
Probably D-Day. OR Stalingrad. Only if we can't get shot or killed.

To watch Krakatoa blow it's top would have been quite something I imagine (but I'd have to remember my ear defenders...the noise was heard up to 3000 miles away).

I would also have liked to have seen the mega-tsunami in Lituya Bay, from a high vantage point! The wave at it's highest point reached 1720 feet high.

^ Also, to add another one.
When the asteroid eventually comes, watching that land would be interesting.

Would love to have been present at the battle of Agincourt

Or perhaps The battle of Hastings, if only to shout "DUCK" at the critical moment.

So many things would be different.

I'd like to go back to the day my cheating ex-wife found out I'd slipped her sister a length.

All told it was supposed to be spectacular.

A dish best served cold.
