Having recently discovered that a pot hole has cause £600 worth of damage by destroying my upper strut and buckling an alloy; I am thinking of changing my 17" Flame Spoke Alloys with RF's to 18" JCW R113 with Toyo Proxes 4 (non-RF).

Has anyone carried out a similar change? Also do the R113's require the steering lock limiter and KDS wheel alignment.
(I have an R56 Mini Cooper)

David I cant help much as I am fishing for some answers myself but I can add you will need the steering lock as I have on my 18 inch R105s, also these run flat tyres are absolutely hopeless over bumps and drains etc... my car skips a few feet some times and they completely compromise the handling.

I have read good thinks abour Yoko Parada spec 2s if you were going to possibly do the odd track day to.

Have just fitted the R113s with Falken FK452 tyres. On initial start up I was greeted with a christmas tree of warning lights. This was resolved by a short drive.

Is that due to the pressure warning sensors?

Yes, I believe so. Also due to the fact that the car was started with two different sizes of alloys and tyres on. This led to pressure, ABS, steering lock, airbag...etc warnings.

The R113s are fitted with 215/35 R18 Falkons which differs from the 205/40 R18's that mini recommend.

More photos to follow once car is cleaned smile

What do you do after a pot hole has destroyed your 17" wheels w/low profile tyres and took out some suspension bits with it? Get some 18s with rubberband tyres, of course. hehe

Yep. Although I went back to R105s, but I didn't bother with the limiter and its never fouled the arch although this could be due to 6mm spacers that were required to clear the calipers which you won't need. Personally, I'd steer clear of the PX-4s as they're not very good and go with something like the Falkens which get good reviews and get a decent four wheel alignment at somewhere like Wheels in Motion rather than waste money at a BMW dealer with KDS.
