Hello can I come in?

I am tempted to buy a Nissan Cube/Cubic from Japan, I know they aren't everyones cup of tea but I like the unusual. Can anyone give me some tips, is it easy/worth it?
What model did you import? Would you do it again?

To save you the trouble of doing it yourself I saw about 6 of them for sale in Southampton the other day not sure if they trade as West Moors or Auto terminal may be worth a try.

MR green I did it in 1996 so things may be different now.

Back then there was a shipping company who arranged for a liason who would bid at the auction, Obviously you need to speak japanese to bid.
This guy also then arranged all documentation and transport to the docks for shipping. It was very easy.

he also booked a hotel for me and took me around several auctions my favourite was the JAA in tokyo but even back then prices were starting to climb I was not the only Brit there the Australians were furious with us smile because we were pushing up prices. They were so cheap it was scandelous and i still kick myself I never got an NSX frown

once the car got back you then had to get the car SVA'd and registered ( that meant I had to fit fog light change speedo and modify fuel filler neck. the rules actually changed when I was out there so registering proved a bit of a headache.

Japan is great but without that agent sorting everything out it would have been impossible.

I brought back a mint Eunos limited edition and a scooby both grade 5 cars.

even after paying shipping commisioning and all other fees I was well in profit. I sold the MX5 to a freind for the rpice of the flight he sold the car after a month and made around 5k frown which relly annoyed me because my original plan was to buy to cars myself and sell one the help pay for my car. friends eh
