A4 Head Gasket

Hi,

a friend of mine has just recently brought a A4 tdi and it needs a new head gasket. Does anyone know how much it will cost? Also will he be able to get it done at a good indy or will he have to take it to Audi?

How does he know it needs a head gasket.???

Any one can do it, but I would want to be sure thats what it wants before you go to that expense.

Cost depends on what engine it is. There are a number of A4 TDI's.

I would say 6 to 8 hours labour + £100 for parts call it £1000. Advise new cambelt and water pump at the same time though + another £100 for parts.
