Mine packed-up in Le Mans!

A bit embarrassing getting a bump start on the camp site...............then stalling it paperbag

I had visions of a nightmare situation trying to get the st-heap to start on the ferry; but luckily, just before alighting, it just caught and fired on the button smokin !

New one is on the list!

A landrover V8 one will fit, can't you find a LR dealer?

Had moment of hope when tow arrived at garage and saw a derelict landrover. BUT was TDi so no good. Having diffs making them understand engine from rover not specific to Tiv!

Currently at Angouleme but moving to Saumur (Near Le Mans) today for 2 nights.

Going to go back to the garage and see if they can't tig back together.

Sounds strange - which part of it is broken - the lugs that hold it onto the bellhousing? Or is it snapped in half?

I got one like this for my 350i which worked really well, but the problem is getting them to ship it to France:

Alternatively just live with it until you get back and bump start it, I find it easiest in 4th gear. Make sure you always park on a hill!

I've gotten the same on the Racer, had a SD1 on 1st, but the one above is smaller and about 1/2 the weight.

The Garage in France managed to get the correct part and fit it the next day, no one I spoke to in the UK had any stock of them, seems to be a rare item. Obviously they would turn up in scrap yards but that would require me to have been in the uk. The chap in the garage even missed his lunch break to get the part fitted so we could be on our way, top service. Just like their roads which are smooth! unlike the pot-holed crap back here in the UK.

Great to hear you're sorted. Did you learn any new French swear words from the mechanic, as he fitted it? ;^)
