Hi,

First time gassing station user and in need of some help please. I have searched the threads here and on mini2 forum but am either being stupid or just cant find the answer to my question.

I am planning on getting a MCS (02 - 04 plate) as a sensible car to take on holiday/do the shopping etc. However having previously had a cooper I already know about their lack of boot space. I will therefore be looking for a roof rack on which to put bikes/skis/surf boards. Does anyone know if there are restrictions on which roof rack systems can be used on the MCS with a sunroof. If this is an issue I would buy one without a sunroof.

Many thanks.

Sam

IIRC, on the R53 MCS you have to drill the roof to get the roof bars on? Speak to your local dealer.

The R56 my wife has will take the Mini roof bars without having to drill it though (they changed the design.) I'm actually out tomorrow to buy some Thule bike carriers to go with it.

There are Thule bars available from Halfords for the R53 which means you don't have to drill through the roof.
