Hey was just reading the thread on standard and longlife servicing for the TDI engines and was just wondering:-

I bought some oil when I got my car from a motor factor that advised the use of it, it is labeled as suitable for VW PD engines, however it doesnt say anything about longlife, so I presume that this is just the standard oil?

I paid about £18-20 for it at trade price if that make a difference.

Its for an 02 Polo 1.9 TDI, and due a service in 2k miles.

The manual gives the spec numbers for longlife oil and normal oil.
Somewhere in the small print on the back of the oil bottle you should be able to find these and compare them.

As stated, its 505.01 PD diesel oil,

An 02 polo wont be on longlife servicing, so that is the correct oil for your car
