1700 crossflow breather again !

As i said before i'm having some crankcase pressurisation problems. Pretty sure the problem lies with the crankcase breather valve ( hose to catch tank is clear )I was told that it's just a push fit into the block but the one on my engine is rock solid and I don't want to try anything more heavy handed until I know what I'm doing, especially as Burton Power says these things are no longer available!Can someone help please. Thanks.
