Great shots there.

I really want to get some long exposure shots of waves and waterfalls as I love the effect. Trouble is, my attempts so far have been when the light is too bright to allow anything like long enough shutter time, even with the aperture at min and ISO 100. How do you guys get these shots?

(excuse my ignorance - a lot to learn!)

Either start before it gets too light or wait until it's darker or use an ND filter.

Cracking set of pics Dave. No 2, 3, 10 & 16 are really well thought out and fab shots.

Would love to know more on what you did to achieve the last one (no 16). Presume some sort of filter? Please tell all?

Another added to Flicker smile

Yeah use a ND filter. This one was done without one but wacked the f number to f/22 (lets less light in)

Cheers for the add paul smile No, no filter, just the most awsome sunset. To be honest they aren't the colours that were in the sky they were more pinky/red but I just didnt have the time to get to the beach to get a clearer shot. This was taken over someones house. It was taken with my nikkor 70-300mm AF-S G ED. Beaut of a lens IMO. I've used a circular polariser on a few, can probably tell on the Snowdonia one. smile

Thanks for all the comments chaps smile much appreciated.
