I have owned a Gallardo 6spd and loved it, sold as I am planning to move back to the UK from America in the near future(I know!!)

I have been put off Murcielagos because of the horror stories I have heard regarding clutch replacement pricing.
I see Verdi offer a clutch replacement (center plate only) for £2400.
What exactly is "center plate only" and what is the true cost of a full Murc' clutch replacement?

Thanks in advance.

From memory a full clutch is about £6K

Surprised you say horror stories for the M, they are generally speaking reliable!

Clutch replacement approx £5K - only horror stories come from poor maintenance and abuse!

They're really quite simple machines but at the end of the day they are a £240K car so they come with relative running costs.

Take the plunge - there's nothing like one.

Sorry, I didn't mean horror stories regarding reliability I just meant regarding clutch costs biggrin
Here in the US I was quoted $15,000 which I guess is comparable really.

I did some research on this once, best price I was quoted was £3900 for the full clutch fitted.

This said IIRC simonspider got 20k+ out of his clutches in both his Murcielago's (2004 6.2 and the 2007 LP640)

Drive the car properly and the clutch is fine. I had mine 2 years and had no worries at all

Thanks Mosi, £3900 doesn't sound too bad once every 3 years. Where was that by the way???

There really are no Murcielago horror stories. A Clutch kit, installed, was less than $7000 US, Much less. Heck, you can buy the original kit on eBay for $3800 last I looked, a good independent should charge less than $2k for installation.

I've just had the 4th clutch done on my (115k) Murcie. Lambo Manchester did it and it was about £5k.
Lamborghini are now only supplying the clutch including the flywheel, so its no longer possible to get the centreplate only - as I have had done on the other 3 clutch swaps.
Its just been in for almost a full repaint - cos of the delay the brake upgrade still isnt finished but I'll when this is done I'll post an update

115k miles? You're my hero! How's the car held up?
