I've just bought an 06 X-type 2.2D SE. First Jaguar ever - always been an Alfa fan. So we'll see how it goes.

I need to find an independent to do the servicing, as I don't have a lot of faith in main delaers, and I don't have bottomless pockets. I live on the Hampshire / Sussex / Surrey border but travel regularly to Cambridge so anywhere en route would be OK as long as they have a courtesy car. So that's Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire as well.

Any suggestions plese?

I have found a Top Man for all Jaguars Classics as well as Moderns

He worked in a Classic Jaguar restoration firm as well as two well known Jaguar main dealers before going independant.

Contact Tom Lenthall at TLJaguar 0118-973-7779 he is based in Eversley a couple of miles north of J4a of the M3

Your area would probably include Racing Green Cars at North Camp/Ash Vale

Cripes Norman your man Tom must be pretty desperate the number of times you push him on various forums.

Personally I would never use someone like Tom who works out of his garage at home. Better to pay a little extra and go to a professional outfit.

Far from it, I'm just passing the details on so local forum members can get his expertise.

That is your choice but that way he keeps his costs down to pass on to his customers.

I dispute the last line, he IS a professional and I know for a fact that he gets many of the well known names out of the 'st'

Well if this "Tom" is so good why the need to constanly push him at every posting. To me someone working out of there garage in there garden is not very professional. Does he have proper insurance? I'd rather pay for a proper company where I can see that hey have all the insurance and stuff in place.

I 'Push him' as you say, to give other Forum Members can get the benefit of his Professional Expertise.

Working out of a garage at home doesn't make you any less Professional, in fact he is looking to take on larger premises.

Yes he does have the 'Proper Insurance Etc', I'm sure Tom will show the Certificate to anyone that wishes to see them.

Don't be taken in with Posh building and comfy chairs, it's the man doing the job that counts.
