Not many exclusive places now. Maldives is nice, of course. Not sure of the weather at that time of year...

This looks a bit cheap: http://conradhotels1.hilton.com/en/ch/hotels/photo...

I'm sure an afternoon at Chessington World of Adventures would be more satisfactory.

December is peak season in Maldives (cost and weather). It's the tail end of the wet season in October (which to be honest still isn't bad).

We're off to Mauritius in November thumbup

Seycelles are nice at that time of year. There are a couple of very small islands that are quite exclusive... pricey though.

We went there before the water villas were built, it's absolutley fantastic. Something like 60% of guests are return visitors. It's very small and the service is very personal. There is a spa and I can highly recommend The Royal Thai Massage. And if you fancy a couple of lively nights you can get them to boat you to their other island Kuredu. It's one of the largest islands, it even has a golf course and has a very large entertainment area. But don't stay there for any length of time as it's definately not as exclusive as Komandoo. You can break up the trip with some time in Dubai if flying Emirates. We stayed at the Jumeirah Beach which was very good.

Not sure on their pricing now, but when here a couple of years ago and it was great. It's too far from Male by boat so you must do the seaplane from their private reception lounge at Male. Luxury all the way.

http://www.royal-island.com/

If around 100 luxury beach huts on a 400m x 150m island is too busy for you (believe me it isn't), they will pack you up a survival kit and take you by boat to an isolated island for a day where you will be totally alone. The spa is reasonably priced too if your missus likes that kind of thing (mine did!).

If you like European entertainment on holiday every night, forget it. It really is a place where as a Brit you make your own entertainment.

I'd go again tomorrow, but I think two weeks of doing nothing would be too much for me. A week or 10 days would be my limit but that is just a personal thing.

We booked our trip thru Thompson, about 3k a week all inclusive in February (high season).
