Afternoon. Am in the market for a new point & shoot and want one with decent video capability. Any recommendations? Panasonic TZ-7 seems to be popular with many but I'm not sure about the lack of manual controls. But I understand the equiv Canon isn't stereo & no optical zoom on video? anyway, any suggestions very welcome. Jez

Panasonic TZ-7 would be where I would go. I have a TZ-4 and that works well in still shot and movie mode. Lack of manual control is not as big an issue as I thought it would be (I use manual alot on my Canon DSLR). Exposure compensation is easy to get at and it is possible to set a minimum shutter speed.

TZ7. Exposure compensation +/- button there if you need it. Keeps focus as you zoom. Decent quality. Recommended.

I would have recommended the Panasonic LX3, like mine; cracking quality video (HD donchaknow), but I noticed you seem to want the ability to zoom whilst videoing, which the LX3 doesn't do.
