I forget the name of the pub but on the main road through Mobberly village was a great pub that had loads of Egon Ronay stars/recommendations. I found the food fantastic and reasonably priced. It's a number of years since I worked over there but a pub that good must still be there. Maybe someone local can help me out.

Didsbury is 15 mins from the airport along the M56 into Manchester. You will be spoilt for choice there.

The metropolitan on burton road and the Woodstock on Barlow Moor Road have had more of my cash then I care to remember. Both excellent on a summers evening as they have very adequate outside seating.

If you want local to the airport try The Romper.

Just to the rear of the airport off J6 by the aviation viewing park.
Super food in there smile

Otherwise take the opposite exit off the roundabout at J6 and head into Altrincham.
Plenty of choice there.

The Plough and Flail in Mobberley is great, a proper country pub with excellent food. The same goes for The Roebuck just down the road.

Hi Guy's

Wanted to say thanks-especially to Lord Crocker! We went to the Plough and Flail and had a great night! Food and venue were terrific and there was the unexpected bonus of there being a classic car meet being held there on the evening we visited-lot's of nice MG's and Triumphs to see,one chap there had a Masserati that he was kind enough to let my lad sit in,made his night and a smashing start to our holiday!

Cheers all,

Steve,
