am going to chums house in wimbledon on thursday night and am thinking of going earlier in the day and going to the tennis. i dont have tickets so can i go on henman hill without paying? I have the day off so just want to sample the atmosphere is it worth going without tickets or is it all inaccessible?

thanks

You can't just walk in there without a ticket, you need a day ticket or something. And you better get there early as as soon as the gates open the hill is the first place the masses head to.

IMO its a waste of time, the ques are too long and henman hill isn't all that. I only would go there if I had a VIP pass like last year.

Was out there last night, atmosphere is pretty mad, its amazingly busy, the abundance of SA somewhat grates though..

If you're there on Thursday of second week, that should be Women's semi-final day, the queue will start on Wednesday night. But as there will not be so many important matches on the outside courts you might get lucky for a ground ticket.

Not worth it to be honest. Spent a week there last year with 'players' passes and spent all week getting bladdered on wine in the players lounge. Now means I can't ever go back because it'll never ever be as good.

If you do want to go down you can get cheap tickets (fiver or something) after six I think and just have a wander through the grounds and get a feel for it, watch some later evening tennis.

Yeah, it's worth popping in if you're about. Grab a cheap ground ticket and here's a piece of advice, head up the top of Henman Hill and look for the resale booth at the top. The resell tickets for the big courts later in the evening on the cheap for charity. You can nick in there, watch a late match or some doubles or something, very cool!

Court 1 about 8pm last year

That was Henman Hill with Murray against Gasquet last year.
