Evening All,

Following on from the numerous expressions of interest last week (and Swerni turning out on Thursday), I'll be out riding again on Monday evening, and anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome.

I'll send a confirmation email out to those who've already said they want to come and have provided an email address, but in the meantime, I'm planning on keeping the start details the same as Thursday, which is to say...

Time: 18:30

Place: Carpark next to Holmbury St Mary Youth Hostel

The Plan: Ride for a couple of hours, then go to the pub for a pint and food for those who want it.

What you need: Helmet (you will need it to fend off foliage even if you don't crash), Bike, Spare inner tube, pump.

Just to add to the "what you need", given that the weather forecast says we're going to have "record temperatures" today, bring water! There's none at the carpark, and nowhere to get any once we're riding.

Damn, I don't have an inner tube! Ho hum, does that mean I get to sit outside the pub drinking instead? hehe

Bugger, if I had read this last night I would have:
1. Taken car to work rather than motorbike
2. Put mountain bike in car

It looks like it will be a nice warm evening - perfect for hitting the trails...

No, that just means you have to jog while the rest of us ride!

In seriousness, do bring one. You really don't want to get a pinch puncture going off a step a mile from the carpark, leaving you to walk back whilst the rest of us enjoy the ride.

If you can't get to a bike shop before this evening, let me know before 12 and I'll pick you one up at lunchtime.

Ride the motorbike home at lunchtime and swap? smile

Chris

The chances of me getting to a bike shop are zero, so if you really could help me out, I'll buy the round at the pub afterwards (assuming I live through the experience!)...

No problem. I assume you have normal MTB wheels?

I guess! There's nothing odd about them as far as I know. The bike's a 20 year old Marin Hawk's Hill...

I've assumed tyres somewhere between 2.1" and 2.5" width and purchased accordingly. See you later.

Doppeeee seems very quiet.

Maybe he didn't want to get the bike dirty
He did say he was working today, so probably wouldn't be able to make it. He should be out on Thursday though.

Either that, or he's waiting for the rains to come so that he can get it properly muddy! hehe
