Have been to Biggin for the very first time today although decided to leave as soon as they announced that 558 was'nt going to be displaying. Think I did the right thing though considering how many people there were there!

By that point the sun had moved round into the wrong position anyways so I'd lost motivation.....! The Lanc didnt fly either today due to a techinal problem.

The highlight of the day though was the Reds in formationn with the Virgin Atlantic 747.

Anyways here are some of my photo's, hope you enjoy biggrin

Nice selection of stuff.

I saw a camouflaged Jet Provost T5/Strikemaster fly over Farnborough on Friday. I bet it was on the way to Biggin.

The high point of my afternoon's entertainment revolved around this Sukhoi.

The low point revolved around rolling up to Waltham to fly the Pitts, only to find it was a) filthy b)producing oil out of somewhere the back of the crankcase, and that c) the 4-1 exhaust collector was hanging on by half the required nummber of bolts; After a brief, pithy, and thoroughly bad tempered voicemail message to my mate who had flown it earlier in the day, I resolved that I could at least address point (a), and cleaned the thing.

As I was doing so, a mate who flies that Sukhoi as a ferry pilot for the owner, Paul Bonhomme, arrived in the overhead, landed, poked off the the black hanger, and after a suitable delay - giving the Sukhoi the once over with a sponge, he's been a bit sensitive after some evil git posted pictures of the amount of chalk he managed to cake it in last winter - emerged at the clubhouse with what I can only describe as a throughly kickable grin...

...and, of course, his video camera...and duly showed us video and stills of the flip-side of the Sukhoi transit, his lift back to Duxford, in the back of a P-51D two-seater, in the the middle of the mother of all warbird formations.

The high point of my day came from smacking him around the back of the head, and calling him a jammy git. Purely from outright jealously...there were two of us on jammy git-calling duty, the other one was flying the Vimy a couple of weekends ago.

I freely admit it, I'm a git. I just wish I was a lot more jammy.
