They're not that quick are they? Had a traffic light Grand Prix on the Hardwick roundabout at Kings Lynn yesterday. I booted the 2wd Griff off the line and I could hear all this 4wd dump valve shenanigans going on behind me, but do you know what, even with a noisy cam that's exactly where it stayed. Behind me

Give a WRX 6k revs and dump the clutch and I think it would be very close in first gear, theoretically the Scooby should be quicker. Nice one Mr Wheeler Sir
But who does that in the real world, due to the transmission strain!?
How many revs did you use when "booting" the Griff?
From my experience only about 1500rpm is required for an optimum getaway

A few years ago, I was given a WRX STI while my CTR was being serviced (main dealer is a family friend). It was their demo and had only done 2500 miles which might explain the following, but it just wasn't that quick and nor did it feel particularly sharp. Certainly felt no quicker than the Honda. Only thing is, it trounced my Griff. Not by a bit - it fecking mullered it. When we pulled up alongside at the next roundabout I could just make out the yoof behind the black glass sat in a pukka racing seat and harness. The interior was properly stripped out with a cage.
Watch out for some of this Jap stuff - some of it is mighty quick.

I had a little 'fun' chasing a Porkie Carrera 4S on the motorway (in Hungary) not so long ago.
He came flying past at well over the 130kph limit - don't see many plods on the roads. I gave chase and he put his foot down. Should have seen the look on his face when I went past him at an indicated 155mph - with the roof down.
Don't get many Tivs in Hungary (I think mine's the only one), so he had no idea what had just put his £80 000 car to shame.

Don't get many Tivs in Hungary (I think mine's the only one), so he had no idea what had just put his £80 000 car to shame.

Well done chaps, two great stories. Done a couple of scoobs...one bug eyed one with gold wheels in my old 450 Wedge, very satisfying, & one in the Griff, knackered cam etc. Looking forward to the new cam, Tornado chip, 45mm inlet all the way through at the end of the month.
& if I can save enough pennies, an SC Blower in a year or two.
