Tamora or T350

Hey,
Little bit of advice please. A few years ago I had a Chimera, and loved it, but I had to sell it as I needed a car do to plenty of motorway miles. Im now back in the market for a fun, noisy car that is a handful to drive and looks the nuts, so it has to be a TVR. Only problem is should I spend slightly less money and get a Tamora or spend a little more for a T350. Not fussed about whether or not I end up with a drop top, just looking for good TVR driving (with as little breakdowns as possible).

id be interested to know how you've formed the opinion the tam is a better drivers car than the t350?

I'm lucky enough to have spent quite a bit of road and track time in both and the difference is more than just marginal IMHO.TVR_owner said:

That said, spending money on the T350's supsension would bring rewards if you simply can't live with the looks of the Tamora or prefer a coupe rather than a soft top.

Well im totally confused and think as you have said will come down to looking at them both in the flesh and then going for the best car that turns up on the market. Is it correct that from 2004 onwards the cars became a little more reliable, and are there any engine rebuilds that I should be wary of.

Ive just got back from Castle TVR and they had a Tam and a T350 both parked next to each other, they weren't for sale as were customers cars but I had a good look around them as I too am debating if i should sell my Chim and take a step forward. Having looked at them both together its such a tough call to make. Looks wise i think i am leaning towards the Tam but I guess the only way to really find out is to drive both and see.

Got your e-mail the other day, not ignoring you but I've just been really busy. IMHO I prefer the lines of the T350, the Tam is nice but I just can't seem to like the back end.Drive them both and then make your decision, I believe the Tam has a softer suspension set up and so is a little more complient than the more twitchy T350.

T350. Possibly one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Plus it's insane. I doubt you'll notice the difference in drive-ability off the track anyway (compared to the Tam).
The T350 is definitely one of the best lookers. Ever.At a local motorshow the other weekend they had an Alfa 8C on display. Sorry, while it was nice it was not as good looking as a stick of Blackpool Rock

I decided on a Tamora just because when the sun shines the top comes off so easier to hear the exhaust!
Seriously tho apart from a new battery (original one went after 4 years!) and a new clutch (common problem over 20k i am told) mine has been a great car. I am sorry to be selling her but I need to concentrate on the business right now and I hate seeing her sit in garage and used very little.
As with all TVR's they have little quirks but that is the fun of running them.
Go for a Tamora 2004 onwards with good history you will not be disappointed, I wasnt
