I'd also go for the V8D as you're getting a new engine not a rebuild of your existing one

Interesting question, as I'm considering one or the other myself. Can I ask...?

...With the V8D option you exchange your engine for theirs. What do they do with your engine? Do they rebuild it for someone else? Is the 'new' engine you get actually new?

Prices are similar, but what about performance/power/torque?

Ah that one,7500rpm in 1st according to Dave Walker when he plugged in my ECU!,I do seem to remember it involved lots of opposite lock.
Still not as good as my exploding Volvo.

You got it to rev to 7500 ! solid lifters I would imagine.

Guess Dave's comment is fairly stock. A quick look at the peak RPM tell tale and.... "it's been reved to "whatever" and didnt fall appart so I guess it's all right".

I am just running in my Taraka 500SE engine, can't wait till it's ready for Dom to fit the new plenum! She is a lot smoother than the original engine. As for comparissons I can't say, BUT the complete package drive in drive out complete with new coil and reground crank has cost £3,200 plus vat. That is absolutely everything they list plus Dom has given me an extended warranty. That's terrific value!
