Hi there,

I have a E30 track car with many mods including full cage and buckets etc. I would like to make a bit of the money back by hiring it out, is there any companies that will hire the car off me for track days or similar?

Cant imagine a company taking that risk on your motor, if you are local to a particular track can you contact someone there and see what their feeling is about it.

I may let a friend loose in my motor but they would have to understand the ago olde rule - 'If you bend it you mend it'.

You're a brave man!

Well, yes the company would be responsible for breaking it but they would be if it was their car too, so they are saving the initial outlay cost of the vehicle..

I also thought about hiring the car to individuals but there are so many legal issues its just silly.

I would guess that any company hiring it would want the same warranties on the condition and maintainance for the vehicle as a private hirer - they won't want to risk the liability any more than you do!

no disrespect, but if a company is doing the job right (preparation, maintenance, insurances etc) then the initial cost of buying the car is negligible in the grand scheme of hiring out track day cars. i'd be amazed (and wary of) anyone offering to rent it off you TBH.

who pays when a customer lunches your engine.............you because it wasn't prepped properly or the customer because maybe they over revved it...........except they'll want a refund 'cause the car broke. Add that to the fact that you'll be lucky to make £100 a day margin on it and it starts to look less attractive........
