Hello all,

I am rediscovering the joy of a post work G&T (or two) and have worked through various brands from Gordons to Bombay Sapphire, but need to spread my wings a little.

Can anyone suggest a really nice brand? I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for a special bottle.

Hendrick's, for sure....it's lovely stuff.

Try it with a slice of cucumber rather than lime - its pretty good.

Hendricks ftw.

Also very partial to bombay saph when hendricks isn't available, the downside of having rubbish shops locally.

Gordon's Sloe Gin, whilst not tasting anywhere near as good as home made stuff, is lovely with tonic and a slice of lime too lick

Blackwoods isn't too bad

I quite like the Gordons Distillers Cut (Clear bottle infused with Lemon Grass & Ginger) although have not seen it in a while.

Re the Hendrick's & Cucumber each to there own, sister loves it I hate it.

Andrew

eta Bombay is my regular and I remember being told (when K Cider came in blue bottles with black wrapper) that Blue glass goes in with the clear

As has been said Hendricks is lovely, I like it with cucumber too, but not all the time.

yep the cucumber thing is nice, but half the time i just dump some lime in and it still works a treat.

float the gin on top of the tonic for the best taste...

Both Hendricks and Blackwood's gin are very good and are well above par. Hendricks really does taste good with cucumber, let it soak in the gin a minute and scoff at the end of your drink.

You could also try Martin Millers, which is a bit softer imo and Juniper Green which is a lovely organic gin.

Martin Miller's either the London or ideally the Westbourne Strength.

Oddbins can get it for you as can Majestic.

Everything else is rubbing alcohol by comparison.

+1 for Martin Miller, simply delicious.

Pink 47 is also quite nice, quirky bottle too.
