Obviously the Tuscan 2 came later, but did this improve reliability? What were the major differences and did they address the problems with the finger follower engines?

I'm aware some of them carry the "less desirable" digital dash. Is this less desirable purely because of aesthetics or id the digital one prone to more electrical gremlins?

Also, presuming it has a full TVR history and HPI clear (and touch wood not been crashed) is there anything major to look out for?

Simply put buy the latest car that you can afford. Preferably with an engine rebuild of some sort.

However, it also makes good sense to buy a cheaper MK1 and when required get an engine build by someone like TVR Power, but make sure you budget for it as part of the initial purchase.

Definate cosmetic changes from MK1 to MK2, front end, back end and interior. But no matter which you choose they all look amazing.

My unofficial MK3 has been the most reliable out of the 3 Tuscans I've owned. If you've got the funding lookout for MK2 Targas with the convertible style dash, 05, 06 plates. They were the last ones produced and in my experience very reliable indeed.

No matter which one you choose it's worth considering a budget for:

1. Future engine rebuilds
2. Replacement radiator
3. Replacement shocks (standard ones are rubbish)

Excellent examples:

This ones a bargain with a recent engine rebuild too:

Just adding to a point made earlier have a budget and kinda stick to it and ensure this includes a pot of cash that you can get to if needed for "niggles"

Sometimes i look back and think i should have used this cash to get a newer car but then again i could have had "niggles" with that also but without the cash spare to address them and having to dip into savings i didnt want to touch... So far i must have used about 2k already of this only had the thing a month or so... (includes 24k service done early). Going to be doing the clutch this month now... (some cheeky decats n Power chip also...haha)
