PayPal - any redeeming features whatsoever?
Discussion
Admittedly when it works it's pretty damned useful, however...
One of our suppliers does their online transactions via Paypal's shopping cart - I guess PayPal act as a merchant.
Only issue with that is that it's a company credit card and some time back someone arbitrarily registered it with PayPal.
So now I need to pay a supplier, buy Paypal won't let me do so because the amount is over the single transaction limit for that account (which looks like a made up number anyway).
So how come I can't pay more than £900 in one go using a company credit card with a large credit limit using PayPal without going through the hassle of getting "verified" which will take several days?
I've never encountered this with other online stores, but it seems that if a vendor does their payments using Paypal as the merchant, and you want to pay using a CC that has an associated Paypal account you have to pay using your login, you can't just do a "dumb" card payment.
Oh and "customer service" is non-existant, I'm respectful of call-center workers as I appreciate they are often only the messenger of a corporate policy, but it's first time I've ever come close to asking "Oscar" just precisely what the f
king point of him even being there was.
Not sure I'm explaining too well, but it seems like no way to run a business.

It shouldn't take days to get verified all they do its take £1 from the card, this transaction has a number, once you can see it via the online statement you just enter this number into paypal, job done
Your paypal account is then credited with £1
But why do they need to do this to make a single bloody payment?Your paypal account is then credited with £1
If the card hadn't been registered with Paypal some time back I suspect the transaction would have been fine.
It almost seems as if they don't have the logic that "Actually I don't want to use my Paypal account for this payment, the recipient just happens to use Paypal as the online store merchant".
They wind me the f
k up, verified business account for 5 years not a single fault with any payment I sent or recieved yet they flagged up my account because I used paypal to pay for Ladbrokes poker 30 seconds after recieving a payment..ended up been banned becuase I told them to shove it up their arse.
Good job I deleted all bank accounts / debit cards from my account just as I said this to them - 24hrs later they had tried to clear my bank of any recieved funds I had with them in the past - all they need is your confirmation of bank details (which you do when you verify yourself) to be able to withdraw whatever they f
king want upon wrongly accusing you of bad play..f
king hate them now and will never use them again.
EDIT - Sorry meant to say good job I removed the Paypal direct debit from my bank accounts as this was the method they used to try and clear my account.
