I've started to prepare the body for a respray and I am sure that the previous colour may have been gold or silver. What puzzles me is the quality of the respray no signs of masking anywhere and it looks like all bits must have been removed to do it. My question is could this have been done at the factory to fulfill a customer order? does anyone have such a thing as a list of registrations against colours? Does anyone know the car D657 YLP and its colour history?

Cheers guys

Your original paint code is your body code. You can find it on the plate attached to your inner fender near your air filter.

... usually. Except on mine someone had decided to scribble all over the paint code with an engraver.

I've found out the chip number now.

Didn't the factory keep a register, and don't the club have a copy of it?
