California Production and Prices
Discussion
Anyone know how limited Ferrari will keep supply and what impact that may have on future prices? I'd really like to get a California at around £100K and just wondered if that price is something that's a wait of a few months or a few years. If it's the latter then I guess I'll be getting something else.

This is just a guess but I think production will be massive, more than the F430 because if it's appeal to those that won't normally buy supercars. OR the credit crunch thing will hit it hard and it will be more limited than expected.
Just my 2p.
That's my guess too but interested to see if anybody actually "knows"!Just my 2p.
Production is limited by the Ferrari engine plant which can only produce 38 engines per day for all Ferrari models. However, I was at the factory last month and California production was flat out at capacity.
Current Ferrari dealers are quoting delivery times of summer 2010 if an order is placed now, so I dont think your going to see a £100k Cali for another 18 months + IMO.

I think Ferrari are very good at managing supply to just fall short of demand if their sales figures are any indication. They have suffered a lot less than all the other premium marques.Current Ferrari dealers are quoting delivery times of summer 2010 if an order is placed now, so I dont think your going to see a £100k Cali for another 18 months + IMO.
200 to be delivered to the UK this year and 200 next (all theoretically pre-sold). Worldwide production is expected to be 2,200 for the current year. That's a lot lower than orginally mooted when the World economy was in better shape and the price was going to be a lot less.

lol have u driven one? they look so much better in the metal!
Driven one for a couple of hours. Was it good? Yeah, pretty good. Was it a "proper" Ferrari, ie would Enzo have approved? No way.I walk past the California production building nearly everyday and there never appears to be a shortage of fresh cars waiting for transport.
The shape of it looks very different depending on the colour, dark metallics seem to show off the shape best. Even light metallic blue looks good with the right wheels. Candy red as per the 2008 F1 car seems to be the most popular choice.
