Worst case, but have you tried a BMW dealer ?

I was surprised how many parts they still have access to for my 20 year old E32. Small stuff too, not just the obvious things like brake discs, etc.

I agree with Nick, you should be able to get everything you need from BMW. I get all the bits for my '85 M535i from my local main dealer and so far everything has been available. Most of the stuff comes in from Germany within 7 days of being ordered, they also deliver to my house.

As far as I can recall, the only parts you can't get new for the E24 are the wing mirrors.

I've done a lot of looking, most of the bumpers are highline chrome topped bumpers not the black ones from the M635, its proving difficult.

When I had my e24, there were a couple of guys on eBay who regularly had adverts up for cars they were breaking. Can't remember (or find) the details now, but might be worth a look. I never had any problems with them. Just depends whether you trust "2nd hand" for such key bits and pieces.

I think the main problem is that the M635csi is a rare car and I don't think there will be too many being broken. As well as BMW, you could try Ebay Germany or Ebay USA?

I looked on ebay.co.uk/.de/.com and i've had no luck so far. I will definatly get the oil cooler and the air con rad from BMW but i fear the price of the bumper may see me with a bit of a sweat on!

If your bumpers are painted black as opposed to chrome plated like mine then your car has the rare 'Shadowline' de-chrome option and I understand that the black bumper end inserts (part numbers 51111961589 & 51111961590 are NLA from BMW and you will have to source used ones or buy the chrome ones and have them acid dipped to remove the chrome. According to Real OEM the de-chromed centre bumper insert (part number 51111961574) is still available. Good luck!

Might be worth a call to Munich Legends too.

I get bits from Bavarian Retro (as per the link above somewhere) or Motormec. http://www.realoem.com is great for getting the part numbers - and the exploded diagrams.

The car came from ML so i'll get in touch with them at some point and see what they can do, although with their prices i'd imagine the price to be the same as BMW.

Sharknose, thanks very much for that info i shall go armed with that info and get the center bit, i guess thats half the battle done then!

try finding a front wing for one. An ex work mate needed a couple on his, not sure if ever managed to beat the £650 per secondhand wing he was quoted at the time.

I believe that you can get them directly from BMW - certainly the replacement pair on my car came from BMW a couple of years ago. Not cheap however.

I'm sure you can still get front wings new, though the last time I checked (about four years ago) they were around 900 pounds each!
