Firstly i realise that this topic makes me sound quite dim, I'm not really.

Right, I was watching an old DVD I found, Martin Brundles's Supercars and he was test driving the Diablo GT (apparently the last Diablo they made before the Murci). I thought the last Diablo was the 6.0? Also I'm extremely confused about the different changes made to the Diablo over the years. I know they swapped the pop-up headlights for normal ones? Anything else?
Oh and what were all the different model changes? Also, were any of them 4 wheel drive?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Whilst the Wikipedia page is mostly accurate it's also true to say that the original 2wd Diablos were markedly different from the first VTs in the mid 1990's in many areas but that Wiki page barely acknowledges them...

The first SVs were 510bhp engined cars, the later ones 530bhp (but heavier), the later 6.0 cars are considered by some to be the better cars of the model though the GT is still a far faster car and much less compromising than any other, except perhaps the SE30 Jota.

As many know, the glass lamp 5.7s and the 6.0 litres used that set-up due to Euro regulations and the headlamps themselves are the same units as used in certain other cars. That's one of those anorak facts that's bordering on irrelevant though.

Whatever good ol' Diablo Pete may insist, there are NO badges on any SE30 that say 'Diablo' and it was sold as a very different vehicle from the Diablo VT, VT Roadster and SVs at the time. And having no specific owner's manuals printed hardly supports any idea other than Automobili Lamborghini being strapped for cash in the mid 1990's, which is one of the reasons why Audi now own the brand, but certainly not the only one.

Some purists say the original 2wd drive Diablos are the best, others that the first 510bhp SVs are the very thing, as I mentioned, the GT has more than enough fans but few have actually driven one and many feel the general quality of the 6.0 litre cars determine their 'superiority'... After driving four very different Diablos in recent years, I'd say that they keep one important factor in common - that intensity of experience that all Lamborghinis share is present and correct in every one, regardless of the badges or drive configurations.

Mostly though, I'd take the very considered opinion of the man who dealt with setting up almost all the UK's Diablos and SE30s at point of entry to the UK as a good marker whilst discussing one particular Diablo. He said, "that's the best one to have, long-term" - but in an effort not to spoil things for many, I'm not divulging which car he was talking about, you'll all have to keep guessing / driving / fretting / enjoying...

Having experienced Jan's 6.0, I have to say that I was very impressed - certainly on how much room it seemed to have, and how comfortable it felt. Not sure it was enough for me to consider changing over to one though.

had a go in a GT and I think I can say with authority that it most definitely WAS significantly less compromising than an SE30 Jota smile

Id have a 6.0 in a heartbeat. miles better IMO.

Have to agree, the 6.0 is a beauty of a car! If you could get your hands on one of the 3 6.0se's it would be a good buy!
