Bought E90 330d Sport - Run Flats + Tracking?
Discussion
Hello
I have just bought a 330d Sport. The ride is pretty poor and there seems to be very little grip in the wet. Is this due to the Run Flats Tyres? Do many people just buy normal go flat tyres?
I found some paperwork in the car where the previous owner has had the car 4 wheel laser aligned. On the paperwork it specifies Standard Suspsension. Am I right in thinking the normal none sport car would have different castor/camber and toe setting to the sport setup?
Thanks...

Being an M Sport the ride is ROCK solid - a common complaint in the press. I like it however see what Autocar wrote about the 535d this week and its clear the ride is too hard. Not so uncommon, S-Line Audi's are the same.
I think the wet issue is the run flat brand - i have heard about HUGE discrepancies in grip between Bridgestone, Michelin and Goodyear.
My 118d is on 17 inch run flat Good years which are great in the dry but average in the wet also.....

Just gettin my 4 wheel alignment done. I asked technician about run flats. He says BMW will supply 3 series cars new with normal go flat tyres if you ask them. He suspects they may use a different geometry setup when using normal tyres. He said BMW have seen rear rims failing under the strain on the 19 inch sport wheels running 255 30 19 run flat tyres.
