LP670-4 driven ... videos and pics
Discussion
As I was dropping my LP560 into the dealership today for its first service, the really nice (read: evil, scheming) dealer principal offered me a drive of the SV (number 6 of 350, black, small wing). While he was getting the car ready I took out an LP640 "just to compare them back to back"
All I can say is: unbelievable!
A few pics and videos, below, apologies for my crappy camera phone.

Ok, so a few thoughts on the car. Without a doubt, everything revolves around the noise that monstrous V12 makes. It is quite unlike anything I've ever experienced. Multi tonal screaming and mechanical in first gear, all the way up to the red line which is raised by 300rpm when you flick the Corsa switch (yes, the dealer told me to press it). It is a petrol-fuelled symphony with a distinct initial roar which then translates into something I can only describe as the sound of an Uzi set to 10x. The thing just goads you into dropping it into first just as you come out of towns, and then mashing foot to the floor. Is it quick - er, yes, what a surprise. The e-gear isn't rifle bolt quick as it is in the LP560, the whole thing is a little more "relaxed" but it seems ideally suited to the car and I really didn't find it a problem.
It also does a good job of hiding its size. Threading it round lovely twisty Appenzell countryside today was an absolute joy. You can certainly feel the suspension straining to control the weight of the body if you scythe into a series of high speed bends, but the car does an amazing job of communicating what's going on. You can almost feel it rolling on the sidewalls. Steering is much heavier than the LP560 at speed in twisty stuff, but interestingly when my wife drove it, she managed to tell me, in between fits of insanely happy giggling, that the steering feels lighter and more responsive than the Superleggera. Certainly the carbon ceramic brakes were excellent - not grabby as both the SL's and LP640's tend to be.
It looked fabulous in black - the Batmobile personified. I personally like the way the black appendages (eg. diffuser, front splitter arrangement, etc) which are also black just blended into the car. I'm still in two minds about the contrast with non black cars.
The small wing didn't look totally right to me. Side on, with the huge diffuser arrangement at the bottom, the car looks a little unbalanced top vs bottom.
So it has a noise to die for, is good to drive, any gripes? I thought long and hard on the way back. The cabin feels a bit dated - but the carbon and alcantara make it an undeniably special place to be. The fixed bucket seats are a little uncomfortable for me at 6 ft 1, I felt I was hunching and my head was almost touching the rooflining. And because the engine loves to rev (boy, does it love to rev), it felt a little lifeless moving off in first gear. Until. You. Hit. 2000. rpm. Then, all hell breaks loose!
An amazing car. Do I want one? Yes. Oh dear

As if the SV wasn't enough, the evil scheming dealer principal (actually, a really nice guy, very laid back, just into his cars big time) showed me some other toys. Again, sorry for the crappy camera phone:
This is the car I'll be driving with him at Monza shortly. I sat in it (forgot how narrow those seats are) and started it up - VERY loud (note, the number plate holders!)

Then there was a lovely 350 GT Superleggera that has been upgraded to a 4 litre engine. And it has Ferrucio's signature on the bonnet:

The dealer has two Miuras. An S and this lovely green P400:

Also, a gorgeous matt black LP560:

And finally, just to top off an absolutely amazing day, this was hidden in the corner of the showroom!!!

love the Super Trofeo - look forward to hearing how you get on at Monza. Have you driven there before?
Hi Scott - can't wait. The only experience I've had there is through the Playstation! Hopefully will have in car camera
