Just back from various unnecessary errands, but on a day like today it would be a crime to not be exercising the S3C..

..But just one frustration that keeps nagging away - there's nowhere to safely store a small document/letter/passport/whatever unless you delve into the glove box or have faith in the little centre console hole.

I've been thinking of fitting one of those old fashioned elasticated door pockets as found on old XKs/Morgans etc - but as there is no space on the door the plan would be fit it below the cigar lighter on the transmission tunnel. Problem is I can't source the necessary pocket - any ideas ?

Some Mercs have an elasticated net thing on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel - that could work I reckon.

When I recover my seats I am going to build one into the front of both seats under the driver/passenger legs - I think Saabs have this. All it needs is a piece of colour matched leather, some elastic and a sewing machine.

Correct about SAAB (well my 9000 does). It's an excellent idea, dead handy place to put the stereo front, pens etc.

I have a net type pocket on the passenger side tunnel, comes in quite handy.

Hi

My S3 seats have document pockets on the back (and you can reach the one on the back of the passenger seat from the drivers seat - so OK for slotting maps, etc in to)? Is this unusual or are you specifically looking for a 'front fitted' pocket??

Cheers

Mines the same a Jaye's and of course these pockets are not as visible to "oportunists" or "Scrotes" or whatever the term is these days...

Well, I'm b******d, just popped out to the garage and checked - 2 years of ownership and never noticed the rear pockets -they'll do just fine ! So much for my powers of observation - perhaps I'd better check that I've got a V6 and not some diesel-powered variant...

Priorities have a habit of changing daily in life - having had a maxpower brown trouser moment on a diesel spill this evening the quest for a roll bar now seems more urgent...
