i have had a problem with bubble bee's that have made a hive under my garage as its the old 60's type that has a hollow cerment base.
i bloked there hole up by mistake as i didn't relise they where there and within 20 mins i had a 40+ swam of them!
i unblocked the hole and they are happy again but i am cleaning out the garage and i think they might be connected to my wooden shed and when i clear this out find alot of bubble bees in my shed.
what can i do. i don't want to kill them as i think bee's need to be saved!

i've got no idea, but i think i will have to start calling them bubble bees as well. Seems more apt.

Pretty harmless on the whole. You are safe unless you smell like a flower!

Only form small nests.

It's a good excuse to leave cleaning the garage etc for a while IMO.

Put it off until the winter, and spend this weekend drinking cans in the sun. drink

Try a can of braker cleaner and a cig lighter.

Or just unlit brake cleaner should encourage then to go elsewhere.

they're nice and all but try not to disturb the nest or they'll have you...

years ago when i was a sprog, a bunch of us were in the local woods, we found a bumble bee nest in a hole in the ground, whilst we were all peering into the hole, some clown dropped a rock in...

the sky went black with the buzzers, i was stung on my thumb, the back of my head and somehow, my assfurious, i sprinted in a blind panic and cleared a hawthorn bush that was around the same height as me without touching iteek...

i have a nest under the platform in my greenhouse, they come and go loads of times but i don't try and hurt them and they seem oblivious to me......

johnsmile

btw, i never did find out who dropped the bleeding rockmadmad
