new here just thought would share some of the old history. im 22 now. so 5 years of motering.

passed my test at 17 and was given this by my gran, mini metro 1.3 city X. only had 6k on the clock. kept it for 2 years, put god knows on the clock. it took 4star which was a bit of a bh and also had its fair few problems, the manual choke was interesting but my fav was when coming off the moterway from 70 down to 30 it would just cut out the engine. loved that car. going 103 down a hill in that thing is seriously scary!

after that i was brought my 206 1.1 LX for about 2.5k i think. Again didnt have much on the clock but it was a welcome change from the metro. power stearing and AC. my sister was using it a bit when i was in my first year at uni.. so she wrote it off. but thankfully i got pretty much what i paid for it back from the insurance. smile

I was carless for a while which really sucked. then i brought my golf 1.6S, had 40k on the clock and i love it. no problems at all, nice on the moterway i dont have a bad work to say about it. selling it later this year and getting a TT or a Z3

i happen to live in the middle east as well as the uk so ive had 2 sets of cars really. below are the cars i have had in the middle east. starting with my izizu which is older than me and pretty much dead now. My ford explorer eddie bauer next, which has now done over 200000kms smile been in the garage more than you can imagine. next on the list for out here is either dads XJS 6.0 V12 ensignia or my stepmums Z4 3.0 when they get new cars later this year.

1990 is really not old school.. especially considering the 'stang dates from the 60's (I think, not 50's is it?)

anyway, good luck in getting the Z4 later on in the year, very very nice car. Enjoy it!

nice Z3, if it came down a few grand in the price i would be interested! though ive always thought the z3 has become more dated than the TT.

im from Oman, well im english, born in england but lived there till i was 8 full time and now on and off.. my dad still lives out there. its a great place for driving and cars, second hand market out there is soooo cheap. you can get an new H3 for pretty much nothing. in the uk all the kids drive hatchbacks whereas out here everyone drives 4x4's .. borrowed an H2 last time i was out there, was seriously fun.
