If you have had the Monaro flaking door handle issue done UNDER WARRANTY(like most) it would help me greatly if you could post here how far into your warranty you had it done.

The background is that I checked at last service (about 16 months into warranty) that the flaking I had was covered and was told it was, so I planned to have done at the next service rather than make a special trip.

Now, trying to book it in 9 months later Vauxhall (not the dealer) have said it is covered only for first 12 months.

I know others have had it done, so could you help out with some supporting evidence.

Many thanks

Trim items are only 12 months, so dealer may argue handle plastic surround is trim not body. I had door matt clips, rear light cluster clip and rear badge all refused on that basis.

My passenger handle is flaking but the car being in silver it doesn't shout at you and being plastic it won't rust. So wasn't going to bother with it.

I just used a touch up ten to sort mine out. sod booking mine in vauxhall for 2 days so some 18 year old monkey will rip the door pad off and damage it before repainting the handle, then take it for a spin around the block.
So to answer your question, no i didnt bother to ask them. But they said not to replacing my front discs and pads but they did even though they had done 20,000miles and over 2 years old

Ive tried all sorts under warranty, battery, rear 3rd brake light, door handles, brake discs and pads all at the time the car was 18months old and had 8k miles on it, every single thing refused for some ridiculous reason, cant even be arsed to talk to them anymore. If anything serious breaks will just get a solicitors letter before I even call them lol

I had mine done, as a 2nd owner, when the car was 2 years and 11 months old.

I had the rear "Monaro" badge replaced under warranty when my car was 2 years & 10 months old, along with the front foglamps.

I wish I'd paid for them and kept my car away from the dealer, but that's another story.....
