Cistern won't flush, I have to pump it a few times. Is there an easy fix? Or do I need to replace the complete Syphon unit? Would prefer not have to take it all apart.

If you have a turbo syphon you can take it apart, if not you have to remove the whole syphon. The membrane can be made from a thick polythene bag or a piece of D.P.C

As said above, it depends on what type of syphon it is. You can either take it out and replace the diaphragm (probably has a hole in it).

Or take it out and replace with a new syphon. One that can be removed in seconds without having to take the cistern off and all of that fannying about.

I replaced the siphon on one a couple of years ago and it was a pretty easy fix, surprisingly cheap too.
