ok t'was a strange little beasty, sitting on top of my car yesterday, some sort of wasp looking thing about the length of the tip of my index finger say 20-25mm, the wing shape from above were like a drawn heart shape but the pattern of a normal fly (translucent with black veins), it had a long nose, black and cream striped body about 1mm diameter and the tip of its abdomen was red, had legs about same length of its body and a tiny head in comparison to its body along with two big black eyes.

Any ideas??
