To be fair, we probably said the same thing when Hungary was first mooted.

If its an interesting track that provides good racing, then I really don't mind where the events are (as long as we have a British GP!).

Thing is, how many of the circuits introduced in the last 10-15 years have genuinely provided better racing than the established circuits? Most of them are pretty ordinary. The main thing I notice is empty stands, Zero atmosphere and for the dozen or so people who do turn up, they have to sit half a mile away because of safety requirements. I know that you can say it doesn't matter if you watch it on telly but it does!!! Enthusiastic spectators add an extra level of enjoyment to the viewer

Where will they build the circuit? Will it be nodnoL, that's the capital isn't it? (according to an episode of Red Dwarf).

Seriously, I do hope that they use someone other than that tosspot Tilke to design the track. My 4-yearold boy is ready and waiting with is crayons..... He thinks a 3-4 mile lap, with some challenging high speed banked curves, matched with some tight twisty technical stuff, a few good long straights to help with engine failures, and some nice changes in elevation. And plenty of good views for the spectators.

Well racing in Bulgaria has a huge following.

I remember going to Bulgaria and watching some Formula 3000 around the streets. The streets were packed. They had lots of other cars and the Skoda racing series was a bit like BTCC, but on the streets! Madness, but lots of petrol heads.

Well, the deals for Somalia and Chad have not yet been completed, so at least we have Bulgaria. All that historical nonsense such as Silverstone is best put behind us.

Bulgaria has quite a lot of racing history. Just because you are ignorant to it, doesn't mean it isn't there.

I agree getting rid of Silverstone is a bad idea.

However Bulgaria would be a good location, also all the locals would support it. They would have a packed stadium, or welcome a street race. Unlike the current Eastern locations.

I'm sure Bulgaria has a rich motorsport history, but I couldn't name you a single Bulgarian driver, car or circuit.

Bulgaria do not and as far as I can tell ever had a permanent racing circuit. If they haven't had the money, resources or desire to build one before now what does that say about them being able to sustain an F1 event?

(And before anyone says otherwise, the only circuits they have raced on have been temporary street circuits).

When I saw them they were racing in anything they could get their hands on and modify.

As for circuits I only saw street racing and rallying.

I would say more people in Bulgaria would be glued to the TVs watch F1 and WRC than most of the countries that currently host.

George Tanev races in the WTCC & he's Bulgarian.
