Can anyone tell me about this watch? Was it a known maker for instance or maybe a promotional item?
Sakura Automatic 25 jewels, made in Japan. Days in English and French with Sunday being picked out in red. 26mm face, 40/42mm case. I'm guessing it's mid '70s vintage (I remember my father giving it to me as a teenager...). Hasn't been worn for more than 25 years but still runs, although it loses about a minute a day.
I've googled and found Sakura Watches, but that appears to be an Indian outfit (although headquartered in Japan) and the logo's different. The nearest I've found to the logo is Sakura Color Products Corp. (they make pens etc.) but without the fan outline. It may be that the stylised flower logo is common in Japan (Sakura means Cherry Blossom apparently).
