Hi,

Help for Heroes has stand at FOS this year where we will be selling raffles tickets, the prize being a weekend in an R8.

Out stand is not very exciting, but we do have an R8 on it which has been modified for disabled driving.

But please come along and buy a ticket, we are located behind the Jaguar and Landrover stands plus we have a lot of space on our marquee incase of rain or just a break out of the sun.

I spent most the day there today setting up, it was very busy and looks like it will be an exciting show

Hi Jane, I'm there all weekend 'loitering' around the BMW and or RR facilities, I'll be sure to wander over.

Many thanks to everyone who turned up today and brought tickets - for anyone who wants to find us over the weekend, we are right behind the Jaguar Stand with the Gray R8

Also big thanks to Shaun and Lee (maddad) who came along today to help out, esp Lee who was amazing by not only cleaning the car but was fantastic in helping me set-up and gave so much time on the stand. Thank you your help made a real difference to the day

For anyone going tomorrow, this is what the stand looks like on the inside...

Now, whatever you do, don't even think of buying any of those raffle tickets! That would dilute my chances of winning the R8 for the weekend, and I'm sure none of us would want that, would we! hehe

Hi Jane, it was a pleasure and for a very worthy cause! I hope today went well and that all goes well tomorrow, I was absolutely amazed at the generosity and support of Joe public for Help the Hero's - it was also fantastic to speak to so many ex-service men and women who came onto the stand to donate, each and every one had a story to tell.

If you are going to the FOS on Sunday make sure you pop along to the Help for Hero's stand and make a donation, it does not have to be much (although the more the better) and every penny counts!

Also, if you have ever wondered what an Audi R8 converted for use by a disabled person looked like you could find out by popping along.....

Just in case you are not sure what to look for (as the stand is a little understated);

I had my eye open for you (and any other SASers) but left the stand for a couple of hours for a wander around - apparently most PH-ers popped in while I was wandering around.

When we ran the Christmas collection on here in 2007, we raised over £3k.

We also managed to get 15+ Supercars up to Headley itself on a Monday in December, all organised in 6 days.

I don't see why we shouldn't be able to do something again! smile

I had an idea of getting teams sponsored over a long weekend, ideally starting and finishing at/near Headley, to see who could get to the greatest number of forces bases and get proof of their visit, but unfortunately work and 3rd offspring got in the way. frown

Having met Jane a few times now at HTH events a more dedicated and passionate person you would not meet, perhaps we could ask her for some advise on what we and maybe our cars can do to help raise some money ? I am more than happy to do whatever I can do.

The recent event at the Top Gear track for the Tadworth children's trust was a great success (Ferrari's giving passenger rides) With the power of Pistonheads I am sure we could do something along these lines.

Dean, thank you, I would be delighted to help out putting together a Pistonheads event, just give a couple of days to get over Goodwood and I will post up a few ideas.

Regarding Goodwood, I am delighted to say that we managed to raise over £6,000 which is fantastic. woohoo

Huge praise to Lee, Shaun, Chris, Alex, Nathan, and Nigel for your help and thank you to everyone who came along and donated -it was you who made the total so much!!!

Also a special thanks to Lee for all the work on the car, my husband was very impressed when he saw it on Sunday - thought I have got it professionally done - hope you got your nails cleaned smile

Even through I didn't get off the stand to see any of the shoe until Sunday, it was a great event and what surprised me was about half of the people I spoke to on the stand appeared to be there for first time.

I was also surprised by how popular the R8 was especially when you consider what else was there.
My favourite thing had to be the Eurofighter Typhoon

Once again, thanks to everyone and sorry if you haven't had a call from me, you haven't won the weekend

Many thanks again Jane for your had work putting the stand on and inviting us along. Being a service guy I know how much the charity means to mates of mine, and I'm only too happy to help out with anything in the future.

I bought some tickets, but had to leave MrsJagPJ to fill in the stubs as the euro fighter was starting it's display! It was indeed epic and very noisy! Brilliant!

I think the draw was today, does that mean I haven't won!? frown

I'd also be happy to help out any event for HFH, a very passionate follower after working with some of the brave men and women of the armed forces.
