Did you obtain the paint from A R Davies in Baldock in the end?
I'm pretty good using spray cans - if you don't want to do the other one, bring it over!
I did yes. thanks for pointing me in there direction. helpful blokes and a good price. not to forget a good colour match I'm pretty good using spray cans - if you don't want to do the other one, bring it over!

ill bare that in mind when I get round to doing the other one depending on free time and the lovely British weather.

How easy was it to remove the handle from the car, if possible could you give me a brief point in the right direction as ive had paint for ages but not had the balls to attempt it
Regards
actually it was easy to remove. you need to remove the inner door tim (aobut 8 screws) see the FAQ for front speeker replacement.Regards
Then all you need to do is carfully peal back the plastic sheet on the top courner neer the door lock.
Then you will see 2 gold coloured bolts un do then (10mm socket) and there is a small black plastic clip that holds the rod in place u can see in the first pic. (plastic clip is to the top of it). carfully prise it off and then the handle will just pop out.
sounds complex but its not.
will try and get some pics of it when i do the drivers door.
Well i have finally got round to doing the drivers door handle.
Back of handle

off the car.

all stripped

back of handle

a closer look at the damage

back of handle with flakey paint removed and keyed

base of handle

back of handle out of the car

all painted and back together

all painted and now back on the car

hope this helps a few people.

Lol true, I will just leave the heater on in the garage for an extra few hours then

thats what i did today to help the paint dry even quicker.. great minds think alike.

Did you use a compressor or rattle cans to spray the door handles?

got the paint mixed form a local paint shop and put into there own spray can. much better then the ones you would get from VX or Halfords.
