Must admit, I've always thought of supercars as very expensive (either purchase price or running costs!) and typically temperamental exotica, ie majority of ferrari's and lambo's (old and new), porsche turbo (just) and ford gt etc.
I've always thought of hypercars as grossly expensive exotica, things that cost more than £300-400K, ala SLR, Enzo, Veyron, koenigsegg, Zonda etc.
I'd class supercharged or turbo charged VXR8's as fantastic modified (but also typically temperamental!) cars with performance that can rival many supercars, but I'd never say they had that 'something' that made them a supercar.
Anyway, when I still had my Carbon I was going to bring it to Goodwood and they said it should be in the line up on the modified car day.

So what makes a super car?
I ask opinions as the 'DE51 RED' Bathhurst S was on the supercar run/display at goodwood.
Is it really a super car or is it a Q car ?
What makes a car a Hyper car?
Is it price,or is it power?
I would love to hear your opinions.
Its a car that Walkinshaw/Vauxhall paid a premium to get advertising space. No way is it a supercar, its a powerful omega ultimatelyI ask opinions as the 'DE51 RED' Bathhurst S was on the supercar run/display at goodwood.

The supercar paddock at Goodwood always has a bit of a dodgy corner and I'm afraid for the last couple of years a holden of some description has been in there. This year the Bathhurst may have had a Aston and a Bentley on one side but on it's right it had a Insignia VXR and a Ford Focus (for gods sake!). Equally guilty were BMW trying to persuade us that the Z4 could rub shoulders with Bugatti and Ferrari.
That said the Bathhurst did pull an enthusiastic crowd (the word Clarkson being quite prominent) and it, and the VXR, did represent GMs' only attempt at presence at what is after the British Grand Prix the Uk's premier motoring event. I had a chat with the marketing bod who was in there from Gm and he reckoned that the holden side of things were still part of GM's plans. His view was that in times when things are a bit grim for GM on both eccenomic and product front the VXR8 was a much needed bit of razzle dazzle for a company feeling a bit jaded. Apparently the Hamster is set rave about the thing on Top Gear sometime this Month.
It might not be real supercar but given that I have to live in the real world it would still be my choice.
