something to do with drinking no longer allowed in the lounge as its a family area?

Is there a "potting shed" forum where it now takes place?

i just felt it had run its course.

the lounge is deader than A line flares with pockets in the knees.
the FND&LT belonged in the pie n piston, which is no more, and the whole vibe of the place has gone.

incidentally i've just polished of an lidl sparkling chardonney that was very nice, while listeniing to the distant sounds of the beer tent in the distance while camped at whittlebury hall for the renault world series

Well I rarely get to join in the thread due to my nocturnal activities.

However I have a gallon of wine I picked up from the vineyard earlier and am listening to one of the guys doing an hour set from The Mixing Bowl, he started at 6 and still going. Ha Ha.

Just had a bit of AC/DC and Iggy pop as well as some Dave Clarke.

Vouvray still (Chenin Blanc from Loire) and Franz Ferdinand from Glasto.

Maybe the thread should resurrect in Food and drink? lol

Well I disagree. I have never posted on those Friday threads, but it's nice to know it's they're there. It's like, I don't know, Radio 3 - it needs to exist because we all feel comfortable knowing it's there. Or the Royal Family (and Lord Summerisle does have blue blood, judging by the title). Or Blue Peter. Some things just need to 'be' and the TFND&L thread is one such thing.

Well, it seems to be starting again of its own volition, so I am listening to Kasabian - Clubfoot with a nice Pinot Grigio, just moving into Fleetwood Mac - The Chain... biggrin

No, not seen terminator. However I shall assume that is the man on the run in the films.

He rattles on a bit at the beginning of the 3rd film about living off the grid..

Could you give us some notice please? I was suffering withdrawal symptoms last week, I turned up, the bar was nowhere to be seen. Unless I was being singled out (you know, switch the lights off, everyone hide and keep quiet, they'll go away...) whistle

I have to admit, it's one thread I rarely miss, a bit of an institution really. I completely agree that the lounge is a shadow if it's former P&P-self but removing the last vestiges of it is has to be discouraged (it also gives me ideas of drinks I've never tried and music I've never heard).

beer

At worst I thought the Lord may have been ejected from the house due to revelations that he had accepted cash in order to influence the changing of laws and hence disappeared in disgrace. Thankfully it seems that he stepped down for personal reasons... Possibly to spend more time with his family? hehe

Oh, just 'n' case...
D: JD 'n' coke
L: 80's stuff. Why didn't we realise how bad this was back then? paperbag

I used to occasionally open the Bar for his Lordship if he was late or away, but I agree with him that the new layout doesn't suit the TFND&LT, which is why I've not opened it for him since the changes.

I completely agree. ou used to be able to guarantee some decent banter on a Friday afternoon. Now the place is about as busy as the Michael Jackson 02 Arena gig planning office.

At least one positive has come out of it though...

You mean that the rest of the Jacksons will have a job? or we just don't have to look at his face?
