Try as I could Wayne, I only saw one Ultima out on track.....did see this little number though keeping the marshalls on their toes!!!

I am not as skilled as some and can not measure my performance in 10ths, it's all or nothing I'm afraid, and what you see above is a result of me trying a slightly different approach with regards to my cornering technique whilst not taking into account the benefits of reducing ones speed accordingly before undertaking such a manoeuvre but hey, no one died did they?
Stunning trackday. I think there was only 3 cars on track for the afternoon. Goodwood - sun - unlimited track time - awesome.
X8 suffered head gasket failure straight after lunch which was a bit of a pest. 4th round of geometry changes next week but that said the handling is astonishingly neutral with the R888s - just a smidge of understeer to dial out. Need to play with the castor so I must order up the rose-jointed suspension soon.

Checked the gauges on the straight as usual then 2/3 lap later marshalls frantically waving flags as they thought it was on fire!! I had a very uncharacteristic oversteer moment thro Lavant corner which I guess is when the coolant was spat out and got on to the rear right tyre.

Your car (and driving) looked superb and the noise on passing pitlane was sublime.
It was the first time I've really looked at an Ultima and thought 'what a handsome beast' (in a Jason Statham sort of way you understand, rather than a DeCaprio or one of dem other girly looking guys)
Throughout the purschase and build phase I never really got on with the shape, but now, and particularly after analysing X8 on track - they just looks the dogs!!
No! Resist!! Not another!!!.........

its a shame, i spoke to Charles Dunn a few weeks ago and he was very proud of the engine he built for Pete and X8, Charles seems a nice bloke im sure he will want to check it over and help you sort it Stuart. More like a sign that it is used as it should be!! 17,000 miles of hard ass motoring.(I know, I sound like a broken record, but I think that car has had a little more than it's fair share of 'proper' driving!!
)I agree with Kyle though. You should give Charles 'Clive' Dunn (as GTW like to call him - ooh you are a scream) a call. The phrase 'knows this engine inside out' is, of course, true in this case.
