just realised you need to be a) a sad that does nothing but post on this site 24 hrs a day or just lucky that someone actualy gives a st and responds to a motor retated problem.

after my issues at the weekend and by the lack of responses I'm thinking pistonheads isnt the place it set out be (or at least I thought it would be)

a sad day

Actually mate I called a mate of mine who has a small car hire business in Ewell and all his cars were out, didn't think it was worth posting, maybe I should have, I do believe if someone could have helped they would have, we are not a bad bunch around here honest, hope you got things sorted anyway.

thanks for the response mate - maybe you should have (not having a dig) but it looks like this site is less about cars and more about st

no reflection on you BTW

I'm 99.99% confident in saying that if someone in the TVS group were able to help, they would have.

But that said - you picked a bad time to post, as most of us were either at Goodwood or Silverstone (or both in my case).

Although I am a bit irked by your implication that we [locally] don't care. If you take some time to get to know us, you'd know that it's the extreme opposite.

My wife and I were having a conversation tonight with one of our daughters about some of the friends we have met via pistonheads as she failed to understand that we have met friends through the Internet (Sounds weird I know.)

As our children are all grown up now, they don't want to be with Mum and Dad at the weekend, as much as we want them to be, so we find ourselves almost every weekend going to one event or another either via pistonheads or TVRs in general.

We have met lots of good friends that we feel we will have for many years to come hopefully, don't get me wrong we have lots of friends already but none that are interested in cars and the like.

You have to get out and about, pistonhead do's TVRCC do's and you will find out exactly what I mean, as an example I recently had my van stolen and within hours I was offered a van and tools from said Internet friends (Cheers Dave and Mark) Please don't be disillusioned by what happened, keep and eye on the threads and come and join us for a beer or whatever, I'm sure your opinion will be soon changed. Sorry about the ramble.

Cheers

Dean

Probably sounds like we're all making this up... but I also read your post but quite a while after you posted (late on Saturday afternoon) and was going to suggest BTC in Wokingham (even got so far as getting their details and starting to write a post) as they've always helped me but figured that was too far away from you.

Yes there's a lot of dicking about on here, and I clearly post more than is healthy however as Dean says I'm met some people I consider to be true friends off here so don't give up just yet.

Being new here I'm happy to vouch that this is a great bunch who will go out of their way to help and make you fell welcome. Don't loose faith.

(Oh, and we are more than happy to talk about cars any time you like drivingyes)

Isn't New Malden pretty much London, rather than TV&S? Must check map...

You were unlucky though, there was so much going on last weekend with Goodwood and Silverstone and so on, and of course with Wimbledon and the beautiful weather most people were just away from their machines.

Did you get something sorted in the end or not?

I do see how it might look, but I really think you caught everyone on a busy weekend. I was shocked at how quiet the forum has been in general lately. Not TV&S just the usual ones too, I think people were out enjoying the weather.
Do hope you found somewhere that fitted your needs though.
