A few weeks ago the car accelerated no problem, then started to hold back at top end, then mid range, now holds back at 3k and ticks over drops suddenly then the ECU try’s to compensate.
Have put new distributer cap on and plugs/leads rota arm, advance working OK timing OK.

Any help would be appreciated chaps

Sounds like it might be your fuel pressure fading away. Could be filter blocking up, pressure / return valve faulty or pump giving up. Would be worth getting a fuel pressure test.

Also check the air filter to make sure it hasn't collapsed inside blocking the air flow.

Otherwise if you have a good spark happening at the right time, you have sufficient fuel and enough air it's time to start checking engine compression.

Sounds very similar to the problem I had, get hold of another 350i Wedger and swop over the ECU and see if the problem persists ..... I had to have mine refurbished job done

Sorry been out,the throttle potentiometer sends a signal to the E.C.U. to let it know when it is idleing and when it is under different throttle openings, there is a link to a Lucas EFI Airflow meter systems which offers a better explanation than I can come up with, search the wedge pages or someone could post a link,I will if I find it.Tempus smile Not the one I was thinking of but thanks/apologies to all concerned. http://www.tvrwedgepages.co.uk/maint_fuel_injectio...
