Just saw the "love to know how"!

I'm using Elements 5. It's in Filter > Correct Camera distortion.

Then just change the degrees of rotation until it lines up how you want it against the grid.

ETA - Then just crop out the chequered bits.

Image > Rotate > Arbitrary and dial in what you like. Or find the measure tool and drag a line to give you the exact rotation needed smile

I find the easiest way is to crop.

Put a square crop on the page, any size , put either the top or bottom line middle marker on the bit you want straight, expand the width to almost the whole frame.

Then with the mouse just outside the top right of the crop frame you should get a rotate icon, rotate the croped area until the line matches 'straight', then expand the sides out till you have what you want and crop, square and level.
