Hi Guys

The diff on my Dad's 2001 W203 C240 is starting to go. It is very noisy and an oil change has had little effect.

Any ideas where he could get a new one for a good price?

Many thanks.

Sorry for the bump.

My Dad has been quoted £1100 for the part alone for Mercedes.

Any ideas of where he could get a new or recon one for cheaper?

Many thanks!

Try a website such as breakerweb, it is probably your best solution.

Also, be worth finding out if the W202 or any other models used the same diff, increases your options then.

Regarding fitting, a local garage swapped mine for £50, quotes from Mercedes indys were generally about £200.

A refurb of the existing diff would be about £400+ plus VAT.

Cheers Bri

Hardy Engineering are very well recommended for refurbs by the way.

Probably charge about £300 for the rebuild and another £150 to take off and refit. Could cost more if other parts are needed, but it is generally just the bearings that go.
